Brr December

Happy monthly post!  I have a love/hate relationship with December, but this year I am trying to see everything in a positive light. It's so easy to focus on the negative, that we forget about all of the wonderful that is right in front of us. This beautiful snow is making it much easier to be able to soak in all the lovely. Today is going to be another snow filled day - hooray for spending it in my pajamas!

I have been neglecting my camera so much. In high school and college, I was crazy about taking photos. Now that I'm a "grown up" it seems as though I've lost the time. How sad. I'm going to make it a point to get my butt back into the things I love. I hate getting caught up in the hustle that is life and feeling like nothing else matters. Am I the only one who feels like this?

Anyway, Mike and I had some fun this weekend breaking out my camera and taking photos in the gorgeous light. New Jersey has been oddly warm (well, the weather has been odd in general), and I am taking full advantage before it starts to snow! I also love this shirt, I wish I got a shot of the back. Marshalls can do no wrong...

Happy hump day all. I always liked my weeks of Instagram. I think I'll bring it back. 

Gifts from Paris (I missed Mike very much, but my fun souvenirs made up for it!), yummy homemade mojitos with mint from my garden, beautiful New Jersey, breakfast in bed, yoga toes, and a wonderful ceiling at the Montclair Art Museum. 

FAIL.

Ugh you guys. It's been months, and I haven't kept my promise of keeping up with this thing. I love to write in here, I love to read all of your blogs, but I don't know why I can't get myself on a routine to do this! My life has recently gone haywire - in a good way - with long days at a new job (yay, finally!) moving back home with my mom, stepdad, brother, and niece (can't. even. explain.), immersing myself in graphic design and building my business, tons of hiking, and tons of lovely days with mike. Also, my trusty best friend Macbook just died :( On the plus side, that means I will soon get a brand new toy...after a bit of saving up.

For now, I'm not making any promises of updates, but I guess it's not about pleasing the masses, it's about enjoying the process of blogging. Here are some (a lot of) lovely photos from a recent trip to New Hope. Oh, and happy Easter - I can't wait to eat way too much chocolate.

Wait! Question for you all - I'm looking for a great site to keep my photos. I've used Flickr, and I do like it, but do you guys suggest anywhere else?? Thanks!

Okay guys, it's been a bit.  I know.  I'm sorry.  Happy August?

I have been a bit stressed/overwhelmed with work, money, life, and everything lately, so in turn I have been totally turning my back to this blog.  I don't want this to be a forced project, and I feel that writing because I want to is what's important.  I'm sure no one is really that upset by my lack of attention here, but I need to figure out what I'd like to do.

I'm planning on taking a long weekend to re-prioritize the things in my life and figure out what I want.  Hopefully, I will be back sooner than later.  I might just continue to post some photo memories until further notice.

So, thanks to my recent obsession with Kelli Murray's blog and an inspiring post about photography, I have decided to get more acquainted with my camera.  I got a Nikon D3000 when I graduated hair school just over a year ago, and haven't taken it off Automatic mode since.  Kelli's post about her tips and tricks - super amazing!  I fully took advantage, and now I will never switch off Manual mode - Kelli, you saved my photography life!  Here's some fun from last night with Mike...
